What a great saying! It's true.

It just doesn't get any better than renting a boat with a captain and heading to the British Virgin Island for a day of fun and sun. We had friends come see us from San Diego this last week and since our boat was being worked on, we decided to rent a boat from our good friends at Nauti Nymph power boats. We are great friends with Capt. Dan so having him drive us around (vs. my husband doing it) was a treat. We felt like we could truly relax vs. having to find moorings, worry about the anchor and if they were having a good time while doing it.

We picked our friends up at Caneel Bay where they were staying for a few days and headed over to Foxy's to check in at customs. Right after we got off the boat the beers and cigars came out for the boys and the fun started early. Of course I hit the gift shop to see what was new and my girlfriend spent a nice amount buying cool shirts for her friends and family back home too. Foxy's really does have a great gift shop. I did manage to get out of there with nothing I needed but it was super busy with tourist buying hats and shirts.

Our day was full of snorkeling at Sandy Spit and hanging with a local storyteller at Ivan's, named Ghost. Ghost grew up in the BVI's and has been telling funny stories and writing poems every since. He had the boys laughing and talking most of the time we were there at Ivan's place. I took a few pictures of some cool sayings he wrote on the wall at Foxy's too.

Lunch at Foxy's taboo never disappoints and we had a great pizza and hummus plus our lunches of maranaided chicken kabobs. Yum! For an extra treat, they were giving away Tequila 1800 shirts and hats (pretty nice ones I must say) so we all got on our matching hats (which made us look like we were from a convention or something) to wear for the rest of the day. People were asking us what 1800 meant on our hats since all 4 of us had them on. I think we should have lied and said we were tequila reps for the day don't you? Too bad they weren't handing out bottle of that!

We also went to Soggy Dollar bar and loaded our friends up with those famous painkiller drinks and Ivan's Stress Free Bar too. This is just what you have to do to be a good host right? Our friend Mark was so excited to swim to Soggy Dollar that he jumped off the boat far away from the shore and swam in. Ivan was there for the day and we chatted with him and hung out in the big hammock while we all caught up on each other's lives. Mark was also excited to get the last Soggy Dollar wrist band to take home with him.

The weather was so perfect with cloudy skies in the morning and then sun for them in the afternoon. It was just one of those perfect days in the British Virgin Islands that you can't explain to someone. You just have to go and see for yourself!.
