Paradise Point Tram 3/20/10
We are in the middle of our very high season here for tourists (while it's still snowing a ton of cities all over the states, he he he......sorry!) so it's no wonder everyone comes here to vacation and stay or via a cruise if just for a day. This week it has been over 90 degrees (hot, hot, hot!!!!) and we are having 5-7 ship days which unload mass people into our downtown and cruise ship docks. We love having you but sometimes it seems a little out of control with the masses.
While I was stuck in traffic while passing the Havensite Cruise Ship dock, I took this picture of the large group of tourist waiting in line to ride the Paradise Point tram up to the top. It 's ride is 700 feet up and has a great overlook of the harbor and town, all the cruise ships and pretty water too. They also serve amazing bushwacker drinks (kinda like a yummy alcoholic milkshake) that will have you needing a nap before you get back on the ship. We make our own here at the house when family or friends come and they are potent!
Here is the receipe in case you are interesting in making them for yourself.
How to make a bushwacker (taken from Woody's Seafood Saloon in St. John, published in Caribbean Travel Magazine:
Get a blender and fill 1/2 way with ice first. Grab big glasses, straws and nutmeg to garnish with too.
Add 1/2 ounce of light Cruzan Rum, 1/2 ounce of vodak, 1/2 ounce of amaretto, 1 ounce of Kahlua, 2 ounces of Bailey's Irish Cream and 1/2 ounce of Coco Lopez. Blend until smooth, pour into a tall glass and top with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. We also like to pour in Hershey's syrup in the glass before we add the bushwacker for an extra chocolate treat.
You can't NOT like this drink.
